EuroCHRIE President’s Spring Message

Dear EuroCHRIE Members,

As we approach the end of the Spring Semester, I am grateful for dedication of everyone who has contributed to the work of EuroCHRIE. Working together, we are progressing excellence in hospitality and tourism education to help enriched the lives of our students and strengthened the future of our industry.

Already in 2024, our webinar series has provided a forum for best practice in the integration of AR/VR in the classroom and in sustainability through simulations. This year’s EuroCHRIE University Challenge has proved to be another fantastic competition, with 17 Schools participating in this global simulation challenge. We thank Russell Partnership Technology for their on-going support of EuroCHRIE in sponsoring our annual University Challenge, now celebrating its 10^th anniversary, and send thanks to Heidi Anaya for facilitating this great opportunity for your School and students.

Coming in the next few months, we will be hosting a webinar for PhD student members within your institutions – please do keep an eye on our website for further details of that event shortly.

Our annual conference will be hosted by Al Rayyan International University College in Doha, Qatar, in November 2024. The call for papers closes on 15 April 2024. If you are interested in submitting a paper, poster or lecturer’s lounge workshop, please check out the conference website for more information.

We are also in the middle of our call for EuroCHRIE Board of Directors nominations. Nominations for election are open for

Vice President/President/Immediate Past President (3-year tenure; 1-year per position)
Director of Research (2-years)
Director of Education (2-years)
Director of Communications and Marketing (2-years)
