Hartwig Bohne

Prof. Dr. Hartwig Bohne started his career with an apprenticeship as a hotel specialist at the Kempinski Hotel Taschenbergpalais Dresden, followed by his first Front Office position at the Kempinski Hotel President Wilson Geneva.

Prof. Dr. Hartwig Bohne started his career with an apprenticeship as a hotel specialist at the Kempinski Hotel Taschenbergpalais Dresden, followed by his first Front Office position at the Kempinski Hotel President Wilson Geneva. He successfully finished studies in Tourism Management and Politics at the University Trier and the EM Strasbourg Business School, worked as economic adviser to the German Hotel Association and was nominated Director Apprenticeship Management & University relations at the head office of Kempinski Hoteliers.  In 2011 he founded his own strategic hospitality consultancy, started part-time lecturing at several European hospitality management oriented universities (e.g. Haaga-Helia Helsinki, IUBH, ISM, Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Institut Paul Bocuse), acted as interim GM for a family owned hotel group on the isle of Helgoland and served as personal adviser for a member of the Deutscher Bundestag (Federal parliament of Germany) between 2013 and 2017. Meanwhile finalising his Ph.D. about collaborative educational frameworks between hotel chains and universities, he was finally appointed Professor for International Hotel Management at SRH Dresden School of Management in April 2018. There he is heading the international study programs (B.A., M.A.), responsible for hospitality industry relations and the international educational network as well as Managing Director of the Institute of Global Hospitality Research. His focus of lecturing and research is about human relations in the hospitality industry, culinary experiences as well as tea heritage and ceremonies. Additionally, he is Academic Director and Ambassador for Vacasol Global Engagement Scholarship, external examiner for hospitality study programs at the Technological University Dublin as well as member of EuroCHRIE and the European Speciality Tea Association.
