On contrary to the common belief, academic careers do not begin with doctoral degrees but with selecting the dissertation chair and the research topic. We plan to share strategies on how to plan a doctoral program successfully and manage academic careers carefully through the tenure process and beyond. We plan to share our experiences in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Our presentation includes real examples of dos and don’ts of doctoral education followed by a Q&A session.
