Perry Hobson, PhD has been the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Vacation Marketing for over 23-years. JVM is ranked as an A journal, and has an Impact Factor or 3.5. Earlier this year he moved to The Netherlands to take up the role as Director of the Academy of Tourism at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas). He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the UK, a Masters from the USA, and completed his PhD in Australia. Perry is a Past-President of APacCHRIE, and has been made an Honorary Fellow of Council for Hospitality Management Education (CHME) in the UK as well as CAUTHE in Australia.

During his career, Perry has not only held academic positions in relation to tourism and hospitality education (at Southern Illinois University in the USA, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, SAR-China and at Southern Cross University in Australia), but also spent the last 10-years in senior management roles relating to global engagement in Malaysia (at both Taylor’s University and Sunway University). He is the former CEO of the International Centre of Excellence in Hospitality & Tourism Education (THE-ICE) and continues to sit on its Board of Directors. He is an Adjunct Professor at Ton Duc Thang University in Vietnam, a Visiting Professor at the Management Centre Innsbruck (MCi) in Austria, and also sits on the International Advisory Council of Ostrava University in The Czech Republic.
