He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the UK, a Masters from the USA, and completed his PhD in Australia. He has held both Professorial and senior management positions in the USA, Hong Kong (SAR- China), Australia and Malaysia - along with being the founding Managing Director/CEO of the International Centre of Excellence in Hospitality & Tourism Education ( THE-ICE ) accreditation body. He is currently the Vice-President of ICHRIE. For his various contributions to education and research, he has also been made an Honorary Fellow of several professional academic organisations (such as CAUTHE and CHME) and last year was awarded the Stevenson Fletcher Award by ICHRIE for his contribution to education and research. He is the Editor Emeritus of the applied Journal of Vacation Marketing (JVM), having served as its served as the Editor-in-Chief for over 20-years.
