Dear Delegates,
In just a few days, we will have the great pleasure of welcoming you to EuroCHRIE 2025 in The Hague – the international city of peace and justice. Our entire organising committee has been working tirelessly to create an inspiring and memorable conference experience for you. This year, we are proud to host over 250 attendees from more than 130 institutions and 35 countries – a true celebration of hospitality and tourism education, research, and practice.

✈️ Arrival in The Hague
The Hague is easily accessible from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (approx. 30–40 minutes by train) and Rotterdam The Hague Airport (approx. 30 minutes by taxi or public transport).
From Schiphol, direct trains to The Hague Central Station run frequently. For detailed travel information, visit:

Taxi fares from Schiphol to The Hague range around €70. Pre-booking is advised. Public transport is reliable, safe, and cost-effective.

🍽️ Catering & Dietary Options
Daily lunch buffets and morning/afternoon coffee breaks will be provided throughout the conference. A “Dutch Coffee Corner” with refreshments will also be available during the day.
Lunch menus are vegetarian by default, with consideration for most dietary needs. Please speak to on-site staff for any further requirements.
At our social events, both meat / fish and vegetarian options will be available. Special dietary needs collected through the registration survey will be accommodated. Last-minute requests cannot be guaranteed.

Day 1 Madurodam

Madurodam started as a miniature city, featuring 338 detailed miniatures that represent the best of the Netherlands, all scaled to 1:25. Here, trains, cars, and boats move between iconic buildings and landscapes, bringing Dutch culture to life in miniature form. But the experience doesn’t stop there: you can also enjoy a range of interactive installations, allowing you to step into the story of the Netherlands.
Day 2 and 3: Hotelschool The Hague, campus The Hague

Campus The Hague, Hotelschool The Hague, provides excellent conference facilities, break-out spaces, and a professional yet welcoming atmosphere that reflects Dutch hospitality and innovation.
The venue is fully accessible. Please wear the badge you will receive upon registration at all times and be mindful of students and university activities during the event.
💶 Currency
The Netherlands uses the Euro (€). While credit and debit cards are widely accepted, it’s good to carry some cash for smaller shops or markets. ATMs are widely available throughout the city.

The official language of EuroCHRIE 2025 is English. No simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

🖨️ Poster Printing
There is no poster printing service on campus. Please ensure posters are printed in advance.
🚇 Public Transport in The Hague
The Hague offers an excellent public transport system with trams, buses, and trains. Download the HTM Ticket app or use 9292.nl to plan your journey. Contactless debit/credit card payment is possible on trams and buses. Hotelschool will provide you with a three-day public transport pass upon your registration. (If you will be attending the pre-conference day you will receive a four-day public transport pass.
Uber and Bolt are available, as are e-scooters and OV-fietsen (rental bikes).
🌱 Sustainability @ EuroCHRIE 2025
We’re proud to aim for a Green Event Certification. Here’s how you can help:
- Use public transport wherever possible
- Bring a reusable water bottle
- Take only what you need from buffets
- Return name badges
- Limit printing and paper waste
🚰 Tap Water
Dutch tap water is safe, clean, and delicious. Feel free to refill your water bottles anywhere, we have still as well as sparkling water taps on campus.
🌤️ Weather
In November, The Hague typically experiences low temperatures (0-10°C) with occasional rain and wind as we are located near the beach. A warm jacket and umbrella is recommended, especially for evenings.
