Anders Justenlund joined the EuroCHRIE board of directors as Area Consultant for Denmark in November 2012 during the EuroCHRIE 2012 conference in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Already in 2013, he was appointed to the role of EuroCHRIE secretary, a position he held until 2016, when he was elected as the federation Vice President. During his presidency, Anders had a keen focus on the inclusion of African membership into EuroCHRIE, a task that had already begun at the Dubai conference in 2014 with the first EuroCHRIE African Forum. In partnership with Strathmore University, Saxion University, and University College of Northern Denmark, EuroCHRIE was able to host the very first conference in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2017, the same year Anders took on the role of Federation President.
After Anders ended his EuroCHRIE presidency in 2018, he was appointed Director of Marketing for ICHRIE, a role he was later re-elected for twice and held until July 2023. In his role as ICHRIE Director of Marketing, he had a keen focus on modern marketing initiatives for ICHRIE, including an updated form of communication via social media and internal membership communication. During this time, he advocated for the importance of hiring Darla Hancock as a communication and network specialist.
Anders was a part of the conference planning committee from 2019 to 2021 when the EuroCHRIE conference was hosted by UCN in Aalborg, Denmark, a challenging conference due to the COVID-19 situation at the time.
In August 2023, Anders Justenlund is taking on a new role at University College of Northern Denmark (UCN) as an Associate Professor in International Sales and Marketing. In his new position, Anders will focus on Business Model design and development, design thinking, Sustainable Supply/Value Chains, and export opportunities within frontier and emergent markets.
